Kickstarter Watch – Winterdale 2, 3D printable terrain

Do you have access to a 3D-printer or do you intend to buy one in the not too distant future?
Regardless of the answer you should check out the Winterdale 2 campaign on Indiegogo.
PrintableScenery is a New Zealand-based company specialising in making terrain for 3D-printing. In this crowd-funding campaign you will ‘buy’ STL-files to be used in your 3D-printer, meaning you buy the files and they you can print how many houses etc you want AND you can scale them to your scale of preference.

This stuff looks fantastic and is a reason all by itself why you should buy a 3D-printer. I don’t own one (yet) but I am so tempted.
The original campaign seem to be delivered now, and there you can see many more pictures on what they have done. Great stuff!
The campaign ends around March 11 and will deliver in March!

  1. So when are you buying a 3D-printer Jocke?

    1. Give it a year and I believe we'll be at a price vs performance-level that makes a 3D-printer very interesting.
So, come back early next year :-)

    2. I sort of bought one yesterday...
Amazingly enough the campaign is still open (until this weekend) and one could say I have backed it :-)

    3. Well I might commission a couple of pieces from you then. And I might have to learn 3D sculpting.
