Mini submarines from Verlinden

Seehund and Neger from Verlinden Productions, anchored in a heavy algae-bloom in Soerabaja Harbour.
My harbour always need more boats and this is the latest find, two German midget submarines in 1/35 scale from Verlinden Productions, the larger Seehund and the tiny Neger.
I’m not so concerned about scale as especially the larger Seehund, will see use in mainly Pulp-settings as proper subs manned by all sorts of no-good evil overlords.
They are built mainly as is with some small modifications as I wanted a proper hatch for the Seehund and not a see-through cupola.
A really nice little set that was quick to finish.

If you want one of your own it might be an idea to hurry, as Verlinden seem to have gone under.

  2. Nice Joakim, I was wondering how 1/35 would look with 28mm & I think it looks fine so thanks for answering that question for me.

    3. The Seehund mini-sub worked well as it looks like a larger 28mm sub.

  5. Wonderful additions really well done. Slightly ironic last sentence given that you were showcasing their submarines.

"Verlinden seem to have gone under."

    1. What I have understand Verlinden has ceased trading and it seems that moulds are gone. A pity as they've 'always' been there. First Verlinden thing I've bought, and might be the last.
It is good though, that there seem to be stock here and there. If you fancy something, now might be the time to buy it.

  6. Great find Joakim! All kinds of neat settings for these subs - I've always wanted to play a scenario with an underground lair or seaside dock. Off to Ebay...

    1. Seaside dock - check
Underground lair - it's on the to-do list (which is rather long)
