The
last of the minis from the two Shadows of Brimstone base boxes, this one is the
major adversary from the Swamps
of Death box.
It’s
been half finished on the painting table for a long time but now it’s finally
finished. It needed quite a lot of green stuff to hide all the joints.
Painted
with Vallejo 988 Khaki, an Army Painter Strong Tone wash and drybrushed 884
Stone Grey.
I
wonder why I didn’t finish is long before now.
It's a huge beast on a 50mm base |
Anyway,
I’ve bought some new Brimstone models to have something to do until the rest of
the kickstarter-stuff
arrives.
Scary!!! Marvellously painted, Joakim! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteIt will be fun (or not, actually) to meet in a game of Shadows of Brimstone.
Wow, that is a wonderful miniature.
ReplyDeleteit was quite a lot of green-stuffing to get it presentable, but after that the mini looks terrifying.
DeleteFantastic painted beast! Love the natural colors!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Peter
Thanks, Peter!
DeleteThe beast is supposed to live in the swamps of Jargono, so I wanted a look that would work in a swamp. No brigt reds, etc.
I have another Harbinger that I plan to build without the wings and maybe model with weeds clinging to it, just up from a quiet swim in the muddy waters. We'll see how that turns out.
What a terrifying beastie!
ReplyDeleteyep, and it was used in today's game of Pulp Alley.
DeleteIt was an epic fight and a win for the true heroes!
AAR coming soon to a blog near you.
Beauty beast:)!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michał!
DeleteBeatiful if your into that sort of things ;-) and a beast for sure.
That's one nasty looking spud you've got there Joakim
ReplyDeleteI don't think even his mom loved him, which could explain quite a lot...
DeleteAwsome paintjob!
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteIt was long in the making. Half a year on the table an greenstuffed and primed. Half a year with a coat of Khaki. A month with a wash and then an hour to finish it off.
Stupid to let it wait, really.
Splendid looking demon, but now I can't stop wondering how it would look painted with many bright cthulhuoidean colors...
ReplyDeleteKudos for choosing clear bases too !
I'm thinking about doing a wingless version in red. We'll see.
DeleteClear bases are great as you can use the fig for the boardgame and all sorts of figure-games without the base clashing with the surroundings.
So THAT'S why you wanted to play Brimstone next week? It all makes sense now.
ReplyDeleteAlright, had me the dynamite!
That won't help you...
