The final six Viking archers was finished the other day. They will make a nice unit of levies together with the first batch.

SAGA: first Viking archers

I had a game of SAGA II at the club a while ago. Such a good game! So good, in fact, that I bought the rules and a Viking warband.
These are the first painted ones, half a unit of Levies from Gripping Beast, sculpted by Bob Naismith.
I used heads from another set to get some variability. The one to the right looks like an old veteran commanding the others.
I’m really concentrating on producing these as fast as possible and still enjoy painting them. So I just block paint and wash. Turned out well enough.

Viking from Gripping Beast

I got this Viking from a club member when we swapped some miniatures and gaming stuff a couple of months ago. A really nice little miniature that works equally well as a Viking or as a fighter in a fantasy setting.
I seem to have lost my notes on paints used, so you just have to be contend with the picture.
Welcome new follower Keith from Little Wars and he’s got a very new and very promising blog called Keith’s Wargaming Blog. Some numbers: More new followers per day than most very successful blogs (he totally outclasses all blogs in Little Wars gaming club). Best followers/number of articles ratio I have seen for a blog. You simply have to check it out.*
And Yoshimi488/Daxio26 with Daxio’s Uneventful Day – a steadily updated blog on dungeon adventures, miniature buildings, pulp games and much, much more- well worth a look.
Finally Kevin Howroyd with blog Kevs Wargames Cabin filled with historical miniatures from 15 to 54 mm. Check it out.
And while you’re at it why don’t you hop over to brand new Hook Island Gaming by fellow gamer Gunnar (also known as the evil overmind of Cult of Ra in our Pulp Alley campaign)

*As I write this the blog has been active 10 days and already have 5 followers, and with three articles the ratio is fantastic. Do make him happy and join too J
