Painted minis

From Mythic Battles: Pantheon we have Infernal Hounds (painted last year) and Warriors, Heracles, Minotaur and Cerberus.
It’s been a bit quiet here the last couple of months, mainly because I was on a real painting low. Anyway, this x-mas I sat down with minis, paints and brushes and remembered how fun it was to paint.
Morrigan and Bob from Zombicide: Black Plague and a pack-horse (painted last year), make unknown.
So here we have what has been painted so far this year, and a couple of stragglers from the autumn.
Finally some Hastur Disciples from the excellent game Cthulhu: Death May Die

Zombie Wolfs for Zombicide: Black Plague

This is a record for me! 25 minis painted in less than two weeks.
We play quite a lot of Zombicide: Black Death at the club, and, as I had the Wulfsburg expansion in the plastics mountain, I thought it would be a good idea to get those zombie wolves painted so we could get started on these new scenarios.
In the box are 21 zombie wolfs, of three different casts, and one large wolf abomination. There are also four heroes, but I haven’t started on them yet.
I painted the wolfs in my tried and tested winter-wolf scheme, which is fast and looks good enough.
When I was at it, I also finished two wolf zombies from Reaper and a wolf from the Shadows of Brimstone game. The zombies were rather nice but the resin Brimstone wolf really wasn’t. Their resin is crap, unfortunately.
Anyway, I’m really satisfied with how this turned out. Lots of painted minis in a short time and they look all right. What’s not to like?

Zombicide – Ablobination

This Ablomination come from the Zombie Bosses box for Zombicide: Black Death.
It’s a large beast that attacks all heroes at range 0-1, making it very deadly.
It will absolutely see action in our next game of Zombicide. I’m looking forward to something new.

James, a nurse and September Tally

The final two minis finished during September were James from Zombicide: Black Plague and a nurse from Shadows of Brimstone.
James in the art does look a lot like Sean Connery from The Name of the Rose, and that might explain his name.
The nurse is a hero specializing in healing and taking samples from monsters and whatnot, hence her green bottle.

A summary of September:
Painted:
Total: 19

Bought:
2 pulp characters from Bad Squiddo Games and a 1/48 car-kit.
Total: 3

2018:
Bought:         194
Painted:         -116
Sold:              -180
Total:            - 102

Zombicide: Black Plague – Thundergut and Merieil

The final two minis from the Special Guest Box: Naïade. The other two, Ostokar and Milo, were finished in June, and since then I have only painted two necromancers. It's about time we got more heroes to game with.
A drunk, one-legged dwarf and kick-ass elf – they will bash zombies soon at the club.

Now for something completely different:
About a month ago I found a real pearl of a blog, Vagabond’s Wargaming Blog, and it has become one of my favourites, as it is full of very good AARs. Really very good! Well written with beautiful terrain and minis, what’s not to like? I’ve been very inspired by it.
It’s just a couple of months old and has far too few followers, so I think you should pop over, have a look, and if you like what you see, then follow.
Thank you for a great blog, John!

Welcome Google+ follower Team i-Lovecraft, maker of wonderful 3D-printable terrain.

Zombicide: Black Plague – Evil Troy and Queen Medea

Evil Troy and Queen Medea
These two are Necromancers with special rules for use in Black Plague.
We’re going to use multiple Necromancers for a change to spice up our games.
Evil Troy could also be used as an adventurer as an added bonus.

It’s summer which means more time outdoors and less time with paints and brush, so expect about one post a week the next month or so.

Zombicide: Black Plague – Apprentice Milo and Ostokar the Pale

Two more minis for Zombicide: Black Plague, this time Milo and Ostokar.
Ostokar the Pale
Ostokar is a special figure as he can be used either as a hero or as a Necromancer. I think we’ll use him as a necromancer next game, to see how multiple necromancers work in-game.
The fearsome Apprentice Milo.
Milo and Ostakar are two of four minis in the Special Guest Box - Naïade expansion.

Zombicide: Black Plague – Lady Faye

Lady Faye
Another mini finished for Zombicide, this time Lady Faye. Painted her as close to the illustration as I could, which is both fun and very useful in-game when you want to find and be able to identify your heroes at a glance.

Another really nice hero, as they all are.

Zombicide: Black Death - Piper

Just finished Piper from Zombicide: Black Death. She's from the big box of Kickstarter exclusives and is a very simple to paint fig. Those are always nice!
Here she is, ready for a game. Probably next week.
I'm going off to Göteborg and Gothcon with two of the kids on Thursday. We are going to play so many games :-)
Original art vs my blurry mini.
Hope to see a couple of you there during easter.

Zombicide: Black Death – Cadence and Antha

Cadence
Two more finished heroes for Zombicide: Black Death. This time we have Candence and Antha.
Cadence is inspired by the art.
Antha the Witch
I strayed from the art for Antha as she had far to elaborate clothing. I went for a very easy paint-scheme for her, to get another playable hero. Got to play her the other day and we were extremely lucky in that game and just breezed through.
With these minis finished the Marc Simonetti box of heroes is done. Next will be some assorted heroes, I’ll go for the easily painted ones just to get more heroes on the table.

Zombicide: Black Death – Xuxa

Another Zombicide: Black Death character finished, this time the (warrior princess) Xuxa.
We’re starting a new D&D campaign and I let each player select a figure from my stash and I then paint them up (there is an option to select an already painted one, also) so they can have their personalized character in the game.
Xuxa was selected by my daughter’s friend and she wanted the character to be blonde, but otherwise I could paint after the card-art from Zombicide.
Said and done, and we have a warrior princess that will be played both in D&D and Zombicide.

Zombicide: Black Plague – Lady Grimm

Another hero for Zombicide: Black Death, this time Lady Grimm from the Special Guest Marc Simonetti box och adventurers
I strayed a bit from the original art on this one, but she is still recognisable.
I also got another five fatties finished. Now there are only five more runners left and the base box is all painted.
A warm welcome to new follower Miloš Sácha. I couldn’t find any blog of yours. Comment below with a link if you do have one, please.

Zombicide: Black Plague Necromancer and Redcap Rodney

A short update on what’s happening on the Zombicide front.
The necromancer from the base box is finally finished. I started him early on and nothing much happened after he was painted black. He got my attention for an hour or two and is ready to hit the gaming table and those pesky survivors soon.
I’ve started with one four-pack of survivors I got with the kickstarter, the Special Guest Marc Simonetti pack. The first to hit the painting table was Redcap Rodney, and here he is.
These guys will hopefully see action very soon.
I’m also finished with another five zombies from the basic box, just ten more to go and that box is fully finished. Everyone has agreed to a group-shot when they all are painted. Hopefully in the not too distant future.
