Tom Bombadil and Goldberry from Mithril

These two figures come from the vignette In the House of Tom Bombadil from Mithril, and portray Tom and Goldberry.
I’ll use them as non-combatants in whatever games I fancy, definitely fantasy for both, but Goldberry could probably be used in other settings.

They are on the small side compared to a 28mm fighter, probably more like 25mm 'scale'.
Another couple of ‘civilians’ ready to face the deadly gaming-world.

A handful of hobbits

Here’s a handful of hobbits from different manufacturers.
There is a slight difference in size J
Male Halfling Thief from Otherworld
Woody, Halfling Ranger from Reaper, sculpted by Werner Klocke, and a giant among halflings...
Two hobbits from Mithril. These come from the MV375 In the House of Tom Bombadil and MV373 Gildor Inglorion vignettes and I got them at a sale a couple of years ago. About time I got them painted.

Minas Tirith Townsfolk from Mithril

I picked up a couple of different packs of miniatures from Mithril on a sale at Alphaspel a year ago. Fantastic miniatures and it’s time to get some more of them painted.
These two gentlemen are the occupants of the M203 Minas Tirith Townsfolk pack. Innocent bystanders that will probably meet far too much action for their taste J

Great looking minis, as is everything from Mithril.

Nimrodel from Mithril

This is M209 Nimrodel from the The Elves of Lorien range from Mitril. Another beautiful miniature from their range.
I painted her dress with Citadel Foundation Mordian Blue with a drybrush of Citadel Ice Blue. Belt etc painted white. Jewelry Vallejo Game Color 56 Glorious Gold highlighted with silver.
Her face looks strange in this magnification but it does look better in 28mm J

Goldberry from Mithril

When I visited Alphaspel a while ago I found a large bargain bin full with Mithril figures from their JRR Tolkien’s Middle-Earth range. The sale is still on if this is your thing, all packs for between 30 and 40 SEK, which is a very good deal for the bigger packs.
I fell for M321 Goldberry, a beautiful model. I bought a couple of other packs you will see here on and off.
I see her as a useful civilian, be it in a fantasy, pulp or modern setting.
Paints used:
Skin – Vallejo 955 Flat Flesh, washed with Army Painter Soft Tone ink (Strong Tone around the eyes) and layered with 955 afterwards
Lips – Citadel Dwarf Flesh
Dress – Citadel Snot Green washed with Citadel Thraka Green Wash and drybrushed Citadel Scorpion Green.
Hair – Vallejo 822 German Camo Brown with a wash of AP Dark Tone

Flowers – Vallejo 948 Golden Yellow, washed with 937 Transparent Yellow and AP Soft Tone and finally a highlight of 928

Welcome follower Kris Marquardt with blog Wargames and Railroads, a nice mix of articles and what drew me in was the Old West stuff. He’s got a great comparison of different 28mm Old West buildings that are well worth a look if that’s your thing and a review of different MDF manufacturers. Much more to see. Recommended.
