We
will soon play a Pulp Alley game set in the
harbour of Soerabaja in the Dutch East Indies. What would a harbour be without
a big crane? Not much of a harbour, I say. So I had to find one.
Fenris Games had just what I was after - Ichabod
Crane – a resin and laser-cut plywood kit.
The
tutorial on the
web on how to assemble it could have been a bit more clear, but I managed to
get it together without too much fuss.
Painted
it with Vallejo 972 Light Green Blue and drybrushed with Citadel Chainmail.
After that I applied a Vallejo rust wash where appropriate and followed that
with different pigments to simulate rust and dust.
Now
it’s ready for daring adventurers to swing in the chains and rain death down on unsuspecting enemies. I guess we could get a real Indiana Jones feel in the Soerabaja Harbour scenario.
Fenris
just announced
that they will temporarily suspend production of laser cut kits, so you won’t be able
to get your hands on this kit in the near future, unfortunately. Sad news, as I
had my eyes on their nodding donkey oil rig. Wanted a couple of these for pulp
games, but that will have to wait.
Welcome
Vladd309 with blog too much free time (lucky
bastard!). He likes to play with toy soldiers and space toys (who doesn't!) and the blog is
about just that. Check it out.
