More painted figures

A bunch more figures finished the last month or so.
Muslim and Ottoman Civilians from Perry Miniatures
Istanbul Constabulary from Pulp Figures
A monster from Reaper, two Hybrid Deep Ones from RAFM and three Servants of the Deep from Cthulhu: Death May Die
A horse from Wizkids, two Wild West hobos from Black Scorpion and two 3D-printed seals from EC3D.
Gnolls from North Star
Now I'm finishing and painting a lot of all that 3D-printed stuff. More on that soon.

Secret Santa comes from Frostgrave

We had a local Secret Santa thingie going here in the Frozen North (actually it is above freezing, but, well, you get the idea).
My Secret Santa had quite some problems with half of the ‘Secret Santa’ concept. It seems that if you pay your postage for a package on the web there will be tracking (good) and also a mail to the recipient telling a package is on the way (good). Said mail will also specify other parts, such as the name of said ‘Secret’ Santa (which in this case is… less than perfect :-D).
Anyway, the Unsecret Santa had bought far too much stuff and painted it, too!
Wonderful monsters for Frostgrave! A great present!
I guess I have to invite the Unsecret Santa to a game at the club. I think this was a subtle hint that he likes Frostgrave and wants to play more.
Thank you Unsecret Santa! When do you want a game? ;-)
Also a big thank you to Chris Gilbride who supervised this Penguin Santa Surprise and helped us with ideas (of the... quirky kind) and photos of one of the attendees in Napoleonic uniform doing unspeakable things.

Bears from Reaper and Northstar

I needed a bear for Frostgrave and rather hurriedly ordered one from Northstar. It arrived in the post just as I found another one, from Reaper Bones, in the plastics mountain. Typical…
One of the great things with an extensive tin- and plastics-mountain is all the cool minis you have there and those minis are often useful when you find out that you really need a x for the game next week. The downside is to remember that you actually have a x in that mountain… So, now I have two bears.
An angry bear from Northstar
The Northstar one was a bit of a disappointment as it was full of mould-lines and needed a lot of work to be presentable. The pose is okay though, and it turned out well in the end.

Reaper bear. I rebased it to a bigger 30mm base after these photos were taken.
The Reaper bear, sculpted by Julie Guthrie and from the Reaper Bones 77216 Companion Animals set, is a much cleaner sculpt and gives you a smaller but more detailed beast. This one is my favourite of the two, but I guess both will be used in our Frostgrave campaign.

Constructs from Northstar/Frostgrave and a couple of Reaper skeletons

Here’s the content of FGV303 Small and Medium Constructs and FGV305 Larger Construct from Northstar’s Frostgrave range. They can be used as golems created by the Animate Construct spell in Frostgrave.
There was quite a lot of flash on the minis but that wasn’t too difficult to remove.
Even the large construct isn't that large compared to an ordinary 28mm figure.
Quite fun and unusual miniatures and now I only hope that someone gets the Animate Construct spell so I can see them in action.

You’ll get two skeletons from Reaper’s Bones range as a bonus for this post. I noticed a serious lack of bow-armed skeletons in my rather vast collection of undead and as there is an option to use that in Frostgrave I rummaged around in the tin- and plastics-mountain and found these. A couple of brush-strokes, a wash and a coat of varnish later and they are ready for action.
