Soerabaja Harbour set up

I had a chance to set up the Soerabaja Harbour before yesterday’s game of Dux Brittaniarum at the club. Just to have it all in one place, look at it and take some pics. Enjoy.

I only used stuff I built myself on these pics.

When we play Pulp Alley on Wednesday we’ll also use a couple of buildings made by Gunnar, another club member, and the usual clutter of bits and bobs made by others.

A final remark by one of the club members: “That looks great. You know, we could use it for other games also. WWII…Holland… could you make a whole board of it?”

To be continued, I guess.

  2. Very nice. It could indeed be used in other settings as well. Just keep building, we'll paint some figures and vehicles to go with it 😉

  4. Yep, I foresee a german raid on a small british coastal village... or perhaps a commando raid on a french coastal town with a nearby radar installation.

    1. We talked about a raid on a moored submarine at the club :-)
The possibilities are endless... if I make even more boards...
      I see a need for 28mm commandos

    2. Funny that, Thomas and I were just talking about 28mm commandos for raids on your harbour, and a submarine (that you could build ;-))

    3. It was Thomas started raving about that sub yesterday.
Me, building another 'boat'.... are there any kits out there?

I think I will take a bit of a brake on constructing new stuff for the harbour for a while at least. The idea is to get flat ground on both sides of the present board so it will be possible to build a town or something similar there. At least that is my idea now.
We'll see... it seems a couple of gaming mates are getting all wound up about the possibilities :-)

  8. This is terrific. It's almost a pity to war-game on it as it looks so realistic. I'll follow the games with interest. This could just grow and grow.
