A couple of quick statues from Rackham

I found these statues in a bargain bin a couple of years ago. Made by Rackham and collecting dust in a box for far to long a time.

Cleaned up and painted in the same tones as my harbour and cave walls.
Ready for action.

Rackham Orcs

I fell in love the Rackham orcs in the days when minis from Rackham was the best you could get. Fantastic details and great sculpts. The downside was and is that they take forever to paint. But you get a very nice mini when you’re finished.

I painted the flesh of these brutes with Citadel Foundation Tallarn Flesh. The other colours… your guess is as good as mine.

I based them on Sally 4^th clear 25mm bases.

I still got 10+ Rackham orcs in the tin-mountain, waiting for paint.

Alderan – Crâne Warrior by Rackham

Another figure from the tin-mountain, this time an undead from Rackham (RIP). A big brute, standing over 50mm to the top of his head.

Paints used:

Flesh – Citadel Rotting Flesh, Vallejo 835 Salmon Rose and 944 Old Rose

Bones - Vallejo Game Colour Bone White

Metal – Citadel Chainmail

Leather – Vallejo 876 Brown Sand

Cloth – Vallejo 879 Green Brown

Washed with Citadel Devlan Mud (RIP)

Construct from Rackham

I bought this Cynwall Elves – Nova Construct 2 a while ago from Game Maniacs, on their 50% sale of Confrontation minis. Still going on if you’re interested in that mini you didn’t catch when they were widely available.

Anyway, I intend to use it as a golem/construct in D&D, so I skipped a set of arms. The original model comes with 4 arms with different weapons, and I discarded two of them, leaving the ones with a sword and an axe.

 Construct fighting a female paladin from Hasselfree, just to get a feeling for its size

Paints used:

(Vallejo unless otherwise noted)

Plume and cloth – 965 Prussian Blue with a drybrush of Citadel Ice Blue

Metal – Citadel Chainmail

Details – Citadel Shining Gold

Eye-slit – 952 Lemon Yellow

Everything but plume and cloth got a wash of Citadel Devlan Mud

Machinery under arms and on neck was painted with 955 Black Glaze to get an oily look.

Matte varnish to protect it all.

I’m still looking for Confrontation Orc Brontops Riders, lovely models I would like to have for my orcish Song of Blades and Heroes warband. If you happen to see one for sale and with a decent price then give me a call.

Statues and elemental

Four statues made by Rackham, and bought for a pittance. I decided to finish these quickly. I based them with white, a layer of Vallejo 819 Iraqui Sand and Army Painter Quickshade Strong Tone. Finished with matte varnish. 

The elemental is also Rackham, and was done the same way, but I also painted some parts with Vallejo 912 Tan Yellow.

Done in two evenings (and I even painted some other stuff during the same time)
They won’t win any prizes, but they will be nice additions on the board during a D&D game.

Fantasy orcs from Rackham and Chainmail/WotC

Not so much to discuss.
They’ve been half finished on my painting table since December, and I’m making an effort to clean the desk prior the a 6mm invasion.
