These
two shops come from 3D-Print-Terrain’s Arabic
Buildings kickstarter, now available as an add-on in Jens’
kickstarters, or from
his shop.
They
are made on my Prusa i3 Mk 3, with 0.1 mm layer thickness. Each took about
21 hours to print. The big door-ways are a bit of a hassle, as they are too
broad to support the filament during printing, resulting in quite a lot of sagging filament
that I had to cut away.
These
buildings will come in very handy in my upcoming Pulp Alley Tomb of the Serpent campaign, and I have an idea of painting one or two for my zombie-games
set in Sweden. Just use more colours and put a suitable sign on them.
Hi Joakim -- They look pretty good, there is sufficient detail to be an improvement on a straight foamboard build, I do like the shutters a lot, thats the sort of extra detailing that makes the difference.
ReplyDeleteDo you know roughly how much this would cost to print?
They look good enought, especially as they are houses. On arms length you can't see that they are printed.
DeleteFilament cost is about £2.50 each, which is pretty decent.
Its remarkably good value for money, especially when offset against your time scratch building them.
DeleteWell, you can crank out a lot of buildings faster than you can paint them, see previous post :-)
DeleteAnd the price point is obviously great
They look very nice. You can barely tell that they're printed.
ReplyDeleteIt's all in the layer height. And .1 mm seem alright when printing buildings with flat walls. Takes a while, though
Deletelook great, printing off a couple sets of this atm
ReplyDeleteGood luck with them.
DeleteI backed Jens' latest Arabic kickstarter, so there will be many more buildings for for my desert settings
