Teaser

I set up the gaming table yesterday evening, preparing for the next Pulp Alley solo-game.
It's a suburb to Cairo using all of my 3D-printed arab houses.
Next project is to print even more houses, but more suitable to inner city.
I think I need more civilian arabs also. Any idea where I can find some?

    1. Thank you, Phil!
It took a while to get the right cluttered appearance. Pretty pleased with it now.

I was so pleased with it I had to take some quick pics and post them :)

  3. That looks fantastic! It's got the density that you need on a table like that.
Have you seen Eureka Miniatures' civilians?

    1. I'd like some more walls, shacks and such. Which I just got the files for.
Thanks for the tip. They do have some nice civilians that would work just great.

  4. Bloody hell, that's a lot of houses!
Spread them out on a 6x4 and it will be a city fight for What a Tanker.
I also want you to put a Jawa somewhere in the town, for us to spot in the battle report photos.

    1. All ready for What a Tanker. I expect to have a couple more houses by then.
Supply me with a Jawa and it will be there, otherwise you'll just se a cup of Java, which doesn't quite get the same effect.

  6. Looks like a great table! If you are looking for additions, a few more colonial buildings would probably not go amiss.

Perry miniatures and Empress both have figures that might work for you (in the crusade and Afghanistan lines respectively)

    1. I have a lot of suitable houses waiting to get printed. Plenty of them...
Thanks for the tip. I look into Perry and Empress.

  7. Very smart looking table, a suitable backdrop for one of your traditionally great game reports, so no pressure then ;)

The buildings colour blends very well with the mat, something that doesn't always happen. Is it a Deepcut mat? I don't think I recognise it. I'm thinking of adding some grass to my western board to get this sort of effect.

Perry do a pack of 7 Arab civilians that are very nice, and anatomically correct.

    1. No pressure at all, I'm sure :-D
The mat is from Ceri Design. he did a kickstarter a year ago, and I might have bought a... few.. of his excellent mats

I think he closed shop after that, unfortunately, as I would love o buy some more. Excellent stuff and good value.
The Perry arabs... anatomically correct.. you mean they are naked? ;)
Thanks for the tip! I'll check them out... when no-one else is in the room :D

Noooo- they don't have heads twice the normal size because the sculptor can't get faces in scale.

Good grief you don't think I would send you looking for naked mini's do you? :)

I had a look at the kickstarter, there are some nice products there :( shame he's not doing them now.

I've recently started playing Sails of Glory and on the forum came across a guy from Stockholm playing the game, Andrew is his name. I know there's probably a few people called Andrew in Stockholm, do you know one?

Anyway I don't want to hold up your game report, carry on. :)

    3. Nope, no Andrew that I can remember.
The Perry Arabs look great, and they have some Ottoman civilians that could work, as Pulp producers usually have no idea about the finer points of foreign culture. Not the rather blunt points either, btw.

  8. And I've ordered the Perry's.
The Eureka ones are interesting, but I have to see whatever happens to Brexit before I order them as they are made to order.
Empress were really nice, but postage was a killer.

  9. Work - ? What is that. Just buckle down man, no excuses about work, there's 24 hours in a day you know.

I'm having a couple of friends stay and we're going to have a western game. I decided in a fit of madness to name one of the characters after you. It may come as a suprise but he's called Swede. I wasn't on top form and it was the best I could come up with - sorry. Don't worry though I expect he'll get shot. :)

    1. My nom de guerre in our Western game was Killer Kim. It didn't last long, though, as he got a bullet in the head and became Killed Kim... :-(
But in real life I'm a pretty good shot with SMG:s, so if you give him a gatling gun I think he will do well :-)
Well, rather... I was a good shot, in the military some 20... 25... frick... 35 years ago...

As to work... yes, it is over-rated but puts tin and plastics on the table :-) I actually got a rather nice job, but don't tell enyone.

    1. The sheer amount of houses a 3D-printer can produce is rather impressive. Then it's just paint
