Rise of Moloch – Titus

I got my big box of The World of SMOG: Rise of Moloch stuff from their Kickstarter a couple of weeks ago, and... those figures are just fantastic looking.
So, a bunch of them moved to the painting table to be washes, trimmed and prepped. The first batch will be some of the circus/carnival oriented ones, as I intend to use them in Pulp Alley, as baddies in the Sideshow of Horrors scenario from the Tomb of Serpents solo-campaign I have just started (AAR from the first game is coming shortly).
The very first finished mini is Titus, a very strong and very tough evildoer in the game. He will be equally tough and evil in Sideshow of Horrors.

Zombicide: Black Plague – Thundergut and Merieil

The final two minis from the Special Guest Box: Naïade. The other two, Ostokar and Milo, were finished in June, and since then I have only painted two necromancers. It's about time we got more heroes to game with.
A drunk, one-legged dwarf and kick-ass elf – they will bash zombies soon at the club.

Now for something completely different:
About a month ago I found a real pearl of a blog, Vagabond’s Wargaming Blog, and it has become one of my favourites, as it is full of very good AARs. Really very good! Well written with beautiful terrain and minis, what’s not to like? I’ve been very inspired by it.
It’s just a couple of months old and has far too few followers, so I think you should pop over, have a look, and if you like what you see, then follow.
Thank you for a great blog, John!

Welcome Google+ follower Team i-Lovecraft, maker of wonderful 3D-printable terrain.

Mercs: Drones and Weapon Platforms

An assortment of drones and weapon platforms from Mercs: Recon.
This drone is rather cool. I see quite a ffew uses for it.
My primary intention is to use these, or at least those without weapons, as scatter terrain in SF-games, 7TV and Pulp Alley.
I really like the red tri-ped.
I guess they will all come in handy one way or the other.
Meh... but they might be useful in a game of 7TV. Villains always need shooty things...

An old lady from Blue Moon (and a bonus assassin)

I still got quite a few unpainted minis in the Slice of Americana box from Blue Moon.
This one is just finished and it’s fantastic little mini, so full of character.
She’ll be great as a bystander in a game of Pulp Alley.
I need some assassin-types for Pulp Alley, already have a couple painted but need more. This GCC Agent from Mercs: Recon had to do. An extremely fast paintjob to have a figure if needed. Nothing much to brag about, but he will be able to do his nefarious deeds.

Blood Rage: Fenrir and two Reaper Bones wolves

Blood Rage is the next game I will paint figures for, and it’s really fun as the minis are just fantastic, the game’s got a great theme (who doesn’t like Ragnarök?) and it is without a doubt one of the best board-games I got.
I’ve already painted quite a few minis, but now I’m concentrating on finish everything for that game.
First of the new batch is Fenrir, one of the mythological monsters that you can recruit to your clan.
A huge miniature that turned out real well.
I painted two other wolves, both from the Reaper Bones range, while I was in wolf-mode. One is large, a worg or dire-wolf, while the other is two-headed.
The sculpts are okay, but really nothing more, and the two-headed one needed green-stuffing as there was a rather prominent gap where one of the heads were pre-glued to the rest of the body.
These two will join my expanding pack of wolf-kin.

January – Miniatures Tally

I have this (rather hopeless) idea of actually getting a smaller plastics- and tin-mountain. It seems unreachable but it is worth a try, so let’s see what happens over this year.
To make this manageable I’ve thought about some rules:
1. All miniatures count as 1 (figure small or big, vehicle – they’re all worth 1 point)
2. Except 20mm figures count as ½ (but vehicles is still 1)
3. I only count what I get this year (i.e., the odd box of kickstarted stuff that happen to land on my doorstep doesn’t count if I bought it 2017 or earlier, but stuff I kickstart this year does count, even if it isn’t delivered).
4. If I sell or give away stuff that counts as a minus
5. Terrain doesn’t count
If it wasn’t for rule #3 I would certainly loose as I expect kickstarted World of SMOG: Rise of Moloch, Shadows of Brimstone and more to arrive this year.
I plan to have a group-shot for each month, but as all Conan-minis is at the club now, there will be individual shots of what was painted. First Belit's Guards from Conan
Hyaenas from Conan

Lots of Picts from Conan
Two modern cops from Hasslefree

So, January summed up:
Bought: 0
I painted 20 Conan figures and 2 modern minis, for a total of 22
Sent to the For Sale-box at the club: 39 Mercs minis and 1 Reaper Bones, for a total of 40.
I’ve started to look through my rather large stash to find those minis that never will be painted, could be because I’ve got multiples of them or because I just don’t like them. They are destined to the For Sale-box. There will be more, that's for sure.

Bought:         0
Painted:         -22
Sale:              -40

2018 total:     -62

Looking good so far, but things can change fast.

(I got the inspiration to finally do this from Neil at Meeples & Miniatures)

As a bonus - a couple of shots from last weeks' game of Conan with fully painted minis.
Conan doing what Conan does best - that die-roll effectively killed all the Hyenas
Worthless shooting - that was after re-rolling the equally worthless first rolls.

The Captain of the Guards falls after the three heroes join forces
Hadratus stops the reinforcements while Conan and Shevastas kills the guardian beasts and frees the princess!
